Ok...Josh has been the vacation scrooge of our family. But...I think "his heart has grown three sizes" lately. He took pity on us (me and the kids) and planned a weekend trip to Midway. It was so nice- we swam in the pool and relaxed in the hot tub, took long walks around the resort, rollerbladed along the most beautiful trail, and slept in and went to bed on time for once! We left Sunday after Stake conference and came back early tuesday morning. It was just right.
The coolest part of Midway is how green it is with all these pretty trails and little ponds everywhere. Oh...and it has all these craters all over. I asked so many people there to get the low-down on why they exist...but no one seemed to know. There is one that is quite famous for scuba divers because it is 65 ft. deep with crystal blue water. Josh wanted to go swim in it...(we could have) but I was too scared there would be some scary monster down below to eat my legs off! I am such a wimp now that I am a mom. I used to not be afraid of anything! Now I am afraid of the dark. Has this happened to anyone else except me? Anyways, it was such a nice short trip. But, I am sure that I am still going to want to get out of Utah officially for at least one trip before I add to our family!
I want to hear about all of y'all's summer plans! Where are you going this summer...or where do you want to go? Me? Anywhere out of Utah...I just need a change of scenery...preferably somewhere with palm trees!

How fun, you had great weather for a little get away. We have taken our big trips in the last six months with DC and Florida, but we will go down to Bicknell, UT this summer. John Grandparents are there. Park City in August with all my siblings and their kids.
How nice to get away for a bit! We are going to Rocky Point in 3 weeks with the kids and then just Chris and I at the end of June for our anniversary! And we are going on a camping trip up north in July. Hope you get out of Utah before the new baby comes! And btw, you lied. You are tiny!
Looks like you all had fun. I am feeling the need to get out of town too. we are going to Arches soon ( and I have your paranoia too, I am convinced we are going to get stranded or something and have to live off of dog food - so you are not alone in worrying as a mom). we are also going to go to Yellowstone in July and Zions in September. Nothing to exotic here, it was Adam's turn to choose the destinations this year. I hope you are feeling better and everything is going well with the baby. Tell Analise hi for me, I never get to see the little princess anymore.
Looks like fun! Sorry I didn't answer when you came back on Sunday, I was in the shower. I didn't think you would like me to answer the door naked! I am glad you had a little get away! We don't have many plans this summer! SAD! We are going to St. George next weekend and somewhere close with my family in August. We had planned to go to Disneyland in June, but we tossed that idea aside when little Lincoln entered our family. Maybe next year!
Hey lady it's Lindsey Petersen from the ward! I was looking at Jenells blog and i saw yours thought i would say hi! I love Midway I am pretty much Jealous you went I have only been in the winter and it was beautiful I can't imagine in the summerish what it looks like! P.S You site is dang cute!
oh... sorry to bug you again I am having this little party thing at my house this Saturday, if you dont have anything planned you should come,
I have the information and everything posted on my other website www.dragonflydesigns.squarespace.com
I hope to see you there!
Well, we haven't planned too much yet. We're considering a river run and a couple short camping trips, but that's about it. We're planning to go to Disney World in October so that should be a blast!
Oh, my favorite non-Utah destination is Paris :-) but, actually, I'm hoping that our next out-of-Utah trip is to Williamsburg, Virginia. Mike wants to do a trip for our 10th anniversary and I really want to see the fall colors in Williamsburg. Such a charming little town. But we were there in the humid summer last time and I was basically homebound because of the heat. I want to see all of the cute historic buildings!!!
It sounds beautiful there. My friend is convincing me to leave the country on vacation with her, but I feel too guilty now that I have student loans...
How fun to just drop everything and leave for a couple of days. I'm sure you didn't want to come back to normal life huh? You look really good Britt...Don't roll your eyes at me...I can't wait to see you!
That sounds like so much fun. Im so jealous, I want to go on a vacation. I don't think we have any plans for the summer, but this next year we are hoping will be full of trips. We want to go to New York, Hawaii, on a cruise and maybe I will be able to convince Brandon to take me to Italy before we have kids.
Oh! I sooo want to get away. But with a new baby I don't think it will be happening any time soon. We are planning a trip to Disneyland next year though! Yay!
Josh did all the planning? How nice! And I'm with you, you can't go wrong with palm trees! Your little family is so cute!
