Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival

We had so much fun with our cousins at the Tulip Festival! Only 20% of the blooms had bloomed...but it was still so fun & beautiful. It was our first time...and I can't wait to go back...and we suggest it to all of you!

The kids especially loved rolling down the grass hills! Aaron had a hard time figuring it out at first...and would crawl down & it was too funny! The second he would get out of his stroller he would run for it! This age is so funny and hard.
Annelise loves her cousins and loved the water features! It was such a nice day! Oh...and I loved the exercise walking!

My favorite suggestions are: *Have a delicious dinner ready on time for his return.
*Prepare yourself. Touch up your make-up and be fresh looking.
*Be a litttle gay and a little more interesting for him.
*Don't complain if he's late. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair and have a cool drink waiting for him.
*Arrange his pillow and take his shoes off for him.
*Be happy to see him and eliminate all noise by children when he arrives. Have them cleaned and ready.
*Don't ask questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. He is the master. You have no right to question him.
*A good wife always knows her place.

I got this email from a sister-in-law...and saw it on good morning america...I wish you could read the article but it's not too small.(so I summed up the best...) I can email it to you though! I think it is too funny! I love the list of suggestions! I would have been the worst wife in 1955! Infact, I am not the best now! Josh was sick yesturday with some food illness. He stayed in bed all day and rested...and I think when he went to work today...I vented a little too much.

I wonder if it is my jealousy of him that he got to just lay in bed all day when he is sick...or the fact that his sickness only lasted a day when mine has been weeks and weeks...or maybe it is a combo of many things! Maybe I am a bad wife...but as Dr. Laura would say...too bad for him! You chose your spouse...now deal with your decision!

What is your least favorite thing about being a wife? I think for me it is the cooking part. I don't mind cooking, it is actually fun sometimes. If I had a menu planned each week...and knew what I was making each day...I don't think it would be so bad...but it is the thinking of "what should I make today?" that I really don't enjoy. I do however don't want you all to get the wrong idea...I do love Josh, and being a wife...and esp. a mother...but can't I just complain a little today?

best friends

I just have to say that Aaron is going to just hate me someday for this! Annelise & I were a little bored a couple days ago...so we dressed Aaron in a princess dress & did his hair...and took pictures! He is already obsessed with putting on other people's shoes...and he was putting hers on...and Annelise mentioned he needed the full outfit. Poor Aaron. He did look quite "pretty" though!

I am so glad that Aaron & Annelise are friends and get along. They have their usual brother-sister fighting moments...but overall, I can tell they love each other. I am so glad to see that because I had the very best relationship with my brothers growing up (and now). Brandon was my very best friend when I was younger...and then when I got older, Corbin and I got very close. I remember being devastated both times when they each left on their missions! It is so hard to live far from them. I do miss them both...and wish we could see them more often! My kids love them too!

Princesses on Ice!

Last Wednesday, I took Annelise to the Disney Princesses on Ice show. We had pretty good seats & she seriously loved it so much...and if you all could have just seen her face when Ariel came out....she was shaking and screaming she was so excited. Now she make me call her Princess Annelise Ariel Mulan. She is about as princess at heart as it gets!

Then on Saturday, we got lucky and got to go again! A friend gave us their tickets...so I got to take her again...and Josh came. I thought he'd be bored...but don't tell...he really liked it! And luckily on Saturday, I got the memo that all the moms dressed their kids up in princess attire...so she went as Tinkerbell. (She was disappointed when we got to the Delta Center on Wed. and all the girls there were dressed up except her!)

It was fun to take her twice...and I really liked it too...deep down I am just as much of a kid at heart as she is! My favorite is Belle though. I used to dream about being trapped by a beast in a castle like her!

I am pregnant!

Ok...I have seriously been waiting for the last two months to tell people...but now...with the constant sickness...I think it is just getting to obvious! We are expecting to add on to our family! I am due Oct. 11 (corbin's bday) but I have gone two weeks early with the last two...so I bet it will happen in Sept. I am so excited...and now even more since I am taking Zofran! Thanks to Brad & Haley...(who had a left-over RX) I can now get through the day and even work! It has been such a blessing.

It is funny though...each time I get pregnant...I think...oh no- will this make the previous child feel less loved and will I be able to love each child as much as the others? Sounds silly doesn't it...but you know, honestly I have that fear! But each time I just grow in my capability to love and our family just loves each new member. It is something I just can't describe.

So we are excited...and if you are wondering...I am kinda hoping for a boy...but since we already have one of each...I would love either!

HAPPY BDAY TO ME (well...on Sat the 1st)

A friend once told me that you are supposed to celebrate your bday week...not just for one day. So, I am celebrating this week. (not really) But for all of you who know...I do love bdays! And in the true Harline spirit...I am going to post a slide show all about me...since this week is all about me...and you all must say nice things about me...(does this sound familiar Brandon?)

I did decided to post a slide show of pics I found in the basement. I have written captions...and before you read each one...you think...Brittanny loves....and that is how it works! Now here is the disclaimer...I chose to only use things and pics of mostly high school and college life. So, just so you know...there are alot of other people (ect.) that I love...for example...The Yeates & snowboarding....but these aren't in the slide show. OK?

I must also say that I sure do love bdays...they are so fun. And I do actually like the bday song...most people hate it when it is sung to them...but I love it! I esp. love Corbin & Amy's version most. Well, thanks to all of you for being a part of my 27th year of life...and I am glad you will be in my 28th year! I do hope it will be a good one!

10 years ago I was: Hmmm...this is sad...I was in high school...and this summer is going to be the 10 year hs reunion! Wow...time flies- whether or not your having fun or not! (It has mostly been fun though)

Things I would do if I became a billionaire: I would definitely pay off all our debts first! And unfortunately, with school loans, & our house, that is a good amount. Then I would arrange for a trip to Italy...maybe with Brandon & Mayra since she put that too! And with left-overs...I would invest it.

Something Most People Don't Know About Me: This is so hard...what don't y'all know about me? Oooo...I know...I begged Josh to let me go see the live performance of the show "So You Think You Can Dance" when it came to Seattle. I absolutely love to dance...and took Ballet classes in Seattle...but since haven't done anything formal. And, obviously I loved that show! I miss dance...but, it isn't the most conducive sport for adults. Well, at least for me.

Easter Project

Ok...I saw on Good things Utah a cute project you all need to do along with me. I mainly think you need to do it because we are not going to have grass by Easter (Mar. 23)! Here is what you need:
*A clear round bowl- (any size...but the salad bowl size is best) I found a round but shallow one at Hobby Lobby that will work best
*a small bowl (to place in center of other one...so you can put the cute decorations in it- like a bunny or eggs)
*Potting soil
*Annual Rye grass (J&J's is out of it right now...but are getting more in next week)

Ok. Start with your big bowl and place the smaller one in the middle. Fill the big bowl with potting soil surrounding the smaller one. Then plant you rye grass seeds and water. It will grow by easter and makes the cutest center piece. Then you can put cute add-ins in the small bowl in the center (that doesn't have any soil in it) and the add-ins will stay clean and dry.

Annual Rye grass is the only kind of grass that will grow that fast...so give it a try! and you got to do in now so it will be done growing by then...it takes about 24 days to grow the grass! Comment if you have questions! Have fun!
