Last week on Thursday I was sure I was in labor and went to the hospital...and got sent home. It was annoying, embarrassing (a little) and mostly disappointing. So, since then I think I have tried most things in "the book" to try to get this process going! (walking around Lagoon on Sat.; doing the stairs; spicy food; ect) I totally had the mind frame that this baby would be really early (from complications) and then when that dilemma passed, I was at least sure that this baby would at least come as early as the last two kids (two weeks). But, no, I am still here pregnant.
It wouldn't be so bad if the contractions I have all day weren't so yucky- and the waiting wasn't so hard. My doctor doesn't feel that he safely can let me go past this Friday (8 days early); but I really wanted things to go on their own, not by induction. (I am a whimp for pain and the pitocin makes things more painful) (and I actually like the surprise of when the baby comes)
So I want to hear your ideas & stories! Did you do anything to get labor going? And what other labor stories do you know/heard or gone through. I know I have some good ones about some of my family members...so I bet you all have some good ones to take my mind off of this belly that keeps me from being able to see my own toes!!!

I was a wimp with every one of my kids... induced every time.
It helps to have a friend who is a labor and delivery nurse and doesn't mind stripping your membranes for you ;) Ask your Dr. to do it and if you're ready it should get things going. How dialated and effaced are you? Good luck! Can't wait to see this little guy!
CASTOR OIL... I did it with Pierce and I had him later that night.. I was just DONE being pregnant! Call me a bad mom but it worked!
I don't know what works, but I can tell you what doesn't. Walking around the zoo and the This the Place State Park for 3 hours, then coming home to do aerobics for an hour! So did not work, it only made me tired and sore and I still had to be induced 3 weeks later. My body can't figure out how to go into labor. I have been induced with all 3. It really isn't that bad at least you know your other kids will be taken care of and it is not the middle of the night. Good luck. I can't wait to see your little guy!
I'll take the induction please! Was with two of my three and they were lickity split super easy as compared to all night with Tay. Good luck your almost done cookin'
You sure are holding out!! I can't wait to see him.
Britty! I am so sorry! I know, I got sent home the first time I went to the hospital with Baylee. You think by your 3rd kid you would know what labor felt like. haha Hang in there! But today would be a really great day to have him! Then Taylor and him could share a birthday!
I have a story for you of what sent me into labor. It really is not smart and I don't recommend it. When I was pregnant with austin we had to finish a room for him so we did this, the sheetrocking the carpet the painting and the staining of new dresser drawers. This is what I was doing 2 days before my due date. The weather was not great so we were doing this in the garage and the fumes were crazy!!! Any way we stained until about 10:00 PM by 1:30 AM my water broke. I don't know if it was the fumes but it sent me into labor on my own and it really was pretty cool. Once again not recommened, but that is my story.
Hey Brittanny,
I came across your blog from Ashlee's and Charissa's. Hang in there! YOu are almost done! I can't give you any advice on the labor thing becuase I can barely keep mine in. BUT..my sister in law jumped on the tramp for a few days and went into labor the next morning...two weeks early! I have heard a few other people say that works...who knows?!
Holy cow have this kid already!! The sad thing is you are 9 months prego and still look cute!! I look like a fat blob with a swollen face at that point!! Do lots of walking, maybe with this weather change it will help.. Good luck!!!
I started having contractions at 32 weeks. The contractions would start to get close, and then they would stop. Then the contractions slammed me and I had Carter in two hours. I was dialated at 9.5 by the time I got to the hospital! The night before I was cleaning the house like a mad women. I guess I had some major nesting to do.
I don't think anything works, except I haven't ever tried the castor oil..my mom did that too and said it worked!...for me, they come when they're ready! hopefully by now you have had him though! good luck~!
